Watch “A decade’s impact of Alzheimer’s on one couple” on YouTube

On November 1, 2019, Harriet and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We have three children and seven grandchildren. In the past, I have worked for twelve years, on the assembly line, for General Motors. I was a Lutheran Pastor for over 30 years. Since my retirement I have been called to the ministry of Caregiver. My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about three or four years ago. However, after an in depth evaluation with a Neurological Psychiatrist in September, 2018, the diagnosis has changed to Frontotemporal Dementia. He wrote, "Although I Cannot rule out Alzheimer's, after Harriet's evaluation, my conclusion is that she is struggling with Frontotemporal Dementia." In 2021 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Isn’t life an adventure? You never know what is around the bend or over the hill. View all posts by caregiver
